EARLY LEARNING & CHILD CARE

Take advantage of on-site training.

The Early Learning and Child Care program helps students acquire the skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to provide quality education and care for young children.

This program is designed to prepare students to work as professionals in a variety of early childhood settings. Graduates from this program may find employment in child care centres, preschools, family day homes, out-of-school care programs or in kindergartens as teaching assistants.

The program provides a balance of theory and practice. Students spend time in the college classroom, and time in practicum placements including kindergartens, child care centres, preschools and other eraly learning childhood settings.

You may be able to complete your practicum component in your work place. This training prepares you for employment as a child care worker, teacher assistant in a kindergarten program, support worker for a child with special needs, preschool teacher, or to operate your own day home.

Most of our students are employed in jobs related to their training; others continue their education.
