Demand for competent Power Engineers with Fifth, Fourth, Third, Second and First Class Provincial Certificates continues to grow. The scope of employment is expanding and qualified Power Engineers are vital to power and process industries.

Potential employers include: pulp mills, oil refineries, gas plants, chemical plants, dairies, distilleries, hospitals, hotels, office buildings and apartment complexes. All these employers rely on Power Engineers to maintain a safe and economical operation of their mechanical plants.

POWER ENGINEERING COURSE DETAILS

Computer Managed Learning

This method of study is self-paced. A student is examined at the end of each section in the course. Should a student encounter any difficult with the course material, instructors are available for tutoring by phone at 1-877-535-5025.

The Tutorial Center is open:

Tuesday & Thursday
8:00 am - 5:00 pm
6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

These hours are in effect from the end of August until the last Friday in June. During the summer hours are limited. Please call for schedule.

After you register for Power Engineering CML:
Please visit the Tutorial Center which is located in the Power Engineering Building at 10275 118 Ave (Edmonton) or phone CML personnel at (1-877-535-5025)

Please note:
The following CML courses are now available through the Internet: Fifth Class, Fifth Class Upgrade, Fourth Class, Fourth Class Upgrade, Third Class Part A, and Part B and Part A Second Class. Second Class part B is not available at this time. Please check wiht NAIT for future availability. In order to make use of the Internet compatible courses the students must have an IBM compatible computer, Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 6 or newer software, and access to an Internet provider.The Learning Manager will not work with a Mac Computer.

After registering, students will be contacted by NAIT CML staff via email with their login I.D. This ID is required to access the CML system and will be needed by Consortium staff to access exams.

A minimum pass mark of 65% is required for all Power Engineering CML courses.
